Point Stretch Technique
This special technique was developed by our Nurse who understands and specializes in post-operative care, tissue healing process, post op trauma, and complications associated with any surgery.
Point Stretch Technique is used to detect and effectively addresses any scarring, fibrosis, hardening, that may be present after any surgery. It involves a very precise palpation (touching) of the tissue and effectively treating hard scarred fibers. Point Stretch Technique involves scar manipulation and “holding” in a very specific direction (the way the scar was formed).
“If post-op care is not done properly, it can be extremely painful, and it can potentially damage the surgeon’s artwork. But our expert’s gentle care enhances the doctor’s work and delivers the most amazing results” – D. Wallace, Master Therapist and Registered Nurse.
As we work alongside with top world’s plastic surgeons, our goal is to safely manage post-surgery swelling, water retention, infections, complications, existing scar tissue and new scar tissue formation. This is achieved by using Manual Lymphatic Drainage with Point Stretch Technique (DW POST OPERATIVE POINT-STRETCH TECHNIQUE ).
This technique combines release of retained fluid through lymph system, and our famous Point Stretch Technique that detects and effectively addresses any issues such as localized swelling/edema, bruising, fibrosis, scarring, fat deposits, fluid pockets, and seroma. In the case of liposuction, any lumpiness or unevenness that appears in the aftermath may also be reduced.
Our treatment promotes general relaxation and skin detoxification (post anesthesia), including reducing pain to expedite your healing time. Our technique is always individualized, promoting rapid recovery, tissue repair, proper skin reattachment, collagen and fibroblast production.
During surgery, the skin becomes significantly detached from the underlying tissue. If the post-op care is too aggressive, it can prevent the skin from re-attaching properly, and can lead to other serious complications. It is crucial to be licensed, certified, meticulous and qualified for this type of care.
A proper medical post-operative lymphatic drainage may be highly effective when paired with other, similarly beneficial techniques and treatments. Such treatments are Medi Taping for skin lift, TK Taping for fibrosis prevention, InfraRed Light Recovery, LED Scar Treatment, Radio Frequency Skin Tightening, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber.
DW POST OPERATIVE POINT-STRETCH TECHNIQUE also decreases post-surgery discomfort, pain, anxiety, and body PTSD. While plastic surgery is inherently associated with outward results, there is often tremendous internal trauma to the body that needs to be treated carefully.
It is our pleasure to schedule a consultation with you prior to your surgery and help ease your concerns about your post-op recovery.
We will offer valuable tips on how best to prepare for your recovery journey, what to expect shortly after your surgery, and other general DOs and DON’Ts. We will provide guidance regarding your compression garment wear, post-operative abdominal boards, lumbar boards, belly-button shapers, abdominal foams, etc.
